Putin Thanks the Audience on Red Square After the Election Victory.

Following his election triumph, Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted fans at a performance in Red Square on Monday, alongside three loyalist candidates who ran against him.
“We shall move forward together, and this will strengthen us… Long live Russia!” Putin told an audience at a musical event commemorating ten years since Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine.

On Monday, Putin praised the “return” to Russia of stolen Ukrainian territories at a concert on Red Square after winning an election that Western nations deemed illegal.

Putin’s triumph is primarily predicted to tighten his hold on Russia, where criticism is no longer allowed amid rapidly increasing repression.

He has been in power since December 31, 1999, and is on track to become Russia’s longest-serving leader in over two centuries.

We shall move forward together, and this will strengthen us… Long live Russia!” Putin told an audience at a musical event commemorating ten years since Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine.
