President Applauds UAE's Continued Efforts on Renewable Energy Projects

The President, His Excellency, Several international partners and investors who signed an agreement on Wednesday to participate in Adnoc’s lower-carbon intensity liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Ruwais were greeted by Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, which was held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness warmly greeted the representatives of the businesses that had signed the equity agreement. Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the Group CEO and Managing Director of Adnoc, was with them.

Endorsing the agreement, Sheikh Mohamed emphasised its importance in the UAE’s ongoing efforts to invest in clean energy projects. He also stressed the significance of finding answers to the energy sector’s shared problems and strengthening collaboration with partners globally to support sustainable development for all.

Sheikh Mohamed and company representatives discussed how all parties could collaborate, especially when it comes to using creative ideas to promote sustainable economic growth. They also looked into workable options for the energy sector’s transition.

Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell, Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp, Kenichi Hori, President and CEO of Mitsui & Co., and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, all signed the agreement.
