Philippines airport fees will rise starting in 2025, a government official confirms.

A senior government official has confirmed that, beginning in the following year, passengers flying into and out of the Philippines should anticipate paying more at the Manila airport.

The terminal fee will be increased (by 2025),” Jaime Bautista, the transport secretary, informed reporters from the local media on Friday at a press conference. He clarified that Cabinet approval is still pending for the proposed rate increase, which would include passenger terminal fees as well as takeoff and landing charges for airlines.

According to Bautista in a GMA News report, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) wants to raise terminal fees at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) to Php950.

Currently, the terminal fee for international travel is Php550, and for domestic travel it is Php200. Those who work overseas, including in the UAE, are known as overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and are not subject to these charges. According to Bautista, fee increases were required to modernize the airport. He says rates haven’t been raised in 24 years.

The proposal was made shortly after the DOTr and a private company, Naia Infra Corp., signed a concession agreement worth Php170.6 billion. According to Bautista, the increase would enable the company to recoup its airport investments.
