Organised Beggars Face a Dhs100,000 Fine and Imprisonment.

Through a post on its social media channels on Sunday, the UAE Public Prosecution (PP) outlined the punishments for the crime of organized Beggars begging.
According to Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021, which issued the Law on Crimes and Penalties, the Public Prosecution pointed out that anyone who organizes begging, committed by an organized group of two or more persons, shall be punished by not less than six months in prison and not less than Dhs100,000 in fines.

Similarly, those who bring individuals into the nation to use them in organized crime will face the same punishment.

Anyone caught engaging in organized begging faces a maximum sentence of three months in prison, a minimum fine of Dhs5,000, or both of these punishments. If the person engaging in organized begging is the beggar’s guardian or trustee or has direct responsibility over him, this will be viewed as an aggravating factor.
