The UAE celebrated “Zayed Humanitarian Day,” a yearly event on the 19th of Ramadan that honors the memory of the late founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In observance of this day, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reaffirms its resolve to continue on the great heritage of Sheikh Zayed, who established a giving culture that crosses national boundaries and carries with it ideals of compassion and an unwavering desire to uplift mankind wherever it may be in need. Because of this commitment, the UAE is now well recognized as a leader in worldwide humanitarian efforts.
The “Mohamed Bin Zayed Water Initiative,” which was started by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to address the world’s water shortage, is one of these initiatives. In addition, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Governor of Dubai, started the “Mothers’ Endowment” campaign to honor mothers by creating a Dhs1 billion endowment fund that funds millions of people’s education across the globe.
Mirroring the attitude of generosity, charity, and tolerance embodied by Sheikh Zayed, the UAE has launched several charitable endeavors worldwide during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The country’s steadfast attempts to aid other nations in need of crises and emergencies prove its dedication to humanitarian issues.
