Muslims are Urged by the UAE Moon-Sighting Commission to keep an eye Out for the Shawwal Crescent on Monday

Muslims are Urged by the UAE Moon-Sighting Commission to keep an eye Out for the Shawwal Crescent on Monday.

Muslims in the United Arab Emirates have been asked by the moon-sighting committee to search for the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal 1445 AH on Monday evening, the 29th of Ramadan 1445 AH, which is April 8, 2024.

Unrelatedly, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, the Al Etihad Charity Foundation, and Keolis MHI, the company that runs Roxy Cinema and Dubai Metro and Tram, will collaborate with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to introduce several Eid Al Fitr programs.

The RTA’s Eid programs this year will concentrate on fostering community cohesiveness and extending the culture of solidarity to determined individuals and orphans. Giving traditional Eid clothing, such as the men’s and women’s kandora and makhaweer robes, which emphasize the Emirati identity and the genuineness of the national costume, is one method to spread the joyful delight of the holiday.

Males will get traditional Emirati Kandoras as part of this program, which is being implemented in collaboration with the ERC, the Al Etihad Charity Foundation, and Dar Al Hay Gents Tailoring.
