Muslim Woman Displays Amazing Strength During the Strongman Competition in Dubai While Fasting

Egyptian powerlifter Fatma Elgazzar competed in and won the World Strongman Championship while fasting, showcasing not only her physical strength but also her mental Muslim toughness and faith in what is regarded as the most brutal strength sport on Earth.

Heavyweight athletes worldwide met on Thursday at the Emirates Sports Hotel in Dubai to showcase their superpower and push the frontier of human potential.

Similar to the Men’s Division, female athletes competed in three phases. The 60 kg log lift (3 repetitions) was the opening stage for the under-75 kg group. Next came the 130 kg Axel deadlift (3 repetitions), the 35 kg dumbbell lift (3 repetitions; single hand, straight body), and the 70 kg stone over the 110 cm bar (3 repetitions). The first stage had a two-minute time limit to finish.

Viewers applauded their favorites and were astounded by the competitors’ perseverance in adopting the “no pain, no gain” philosophy. It was more than just an example of Elgazzar’s unwavering tenacity and resolve.

Adjusting during the training was hard during the first week, as I had to move my practice from morning to evening. But after I established a routine, my body adjusted, and I felt even stronger than before.
