As Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, issued Decree No.(13) of 2024 on the Unified Digital Platform for Company Formation in Dubai. The Decree is part of Dubai’s attempts to improve the business environment and drive economic growth.
The platform aims to consolidate numerous licensing processes in Dubai, including those overseen by the Department of Economy and Tourism, special development zone and freezone authorities, including the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and other relevant agencies. The integration aims to greatly improve the investment experience in Dubai. By providing a streamlined conduit for accessing information, getting licenses, and availing of other services connected to economic operations.
In addition to the new Decree, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, published Resolution No. (5) of 2024 of the Council, which approved the main principles for facilitating the investor’s trip in Dubai. These principles apply to all license, permission, and approval processes for business activity in Dubai. The Resolution becomes effective on the date the new Decree takes effect.
