The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has announced a comprehensive plan for the Eid Al Adha season.
The Ministry is carrying out the plan by providing technical and diagnostic resources, necessary supplies, and specialized personnel who inspect animals and sacrificial offerings to guarantee their health and absence of disease.
Additionally, the Ministry is ensuring that all relevant parties follow the rules and procedures for allowing the entry of live and sacrificial animals through the nation’s numerous ports of entry.
Marwan Abdullah Al Zaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Regions Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, announced this during an inspection campaign. The Sharjah Airport Center for Agricultural and Veterinary Quarantine, the Dubai Abattoir, the Dubai Cattle Market, and the Al Hamriya Port Center for Agricultural and Veterinary Quarantine were among the locations that were inspected. The campaign included trips to the northern, eastern, and Abu Dhabi regions.
According to the Ministry, 592,577 heads of sheep, goats, cows, and camels entered the UAE through different ports between the beginning of the year and June. These animals were approved for entry following veterinary quarantine procedures and clinical and laboratory examinations to guarantee they were free of infectious, epidemic, and common animal diseases. Compared to the 325,524 heads of livestock received during the same period last year, this figure represents an increase of 66.7%.
