Introducing Said Al Harthi, an adept professional and the Founder and Co-owner at Tanfidh Management Consultants. With a shift in the career from Administration Superintendent to the Human Resources Department and finally to Strategy Execution Expert, Said’s career started at an early age.
With Tanfidh, Said Al Harthi intends to assist both public and private organizations with extensive training, consulting, and research services. In this interactive interview, Said shares his career journey over these years, adopting a positive mindset in business, ensuring a competitive edge, and has offered suggestions on how beginners should plan their starting step.
Advent Of The Journey
We started the session by asking, “Could you start by telling us about your professional career path?”
Said Al Harthi shared, “Immediately after college, I started my professional career at a very young age working for a reputable Oil & Gas Company in the Sultanate of Oman. Started my career as an Administration Superintendent but later moved to the Human Resources Department but finally I chose the Strategy Execution path. Had an opportunity to travel abroad for educational purposes and attend global conferences. I took an early retirement and started my own professional strategy management consulting and training firm – Tanfidh.”
A Positive Mindset
While every business faces certain challenging phases, we were curious to learn about the same regarding Said Al Harthi’s business journey. So, we asked, “What have been the most significant barriers you’ve overcome, and how have these challenges influenced your leadership philosophy?”
He shared, “I haven’t faced significant barriers during my working tenure, rather I enjoyed working in a team and producing tangible results together. I believe my positive and dedication to hard work nature helped to influence my leadership philosophy.”
Constant Improvements
Eager to learn how Said Al Harthi prioritizes constant innovative approaches within his team, we inquired, “How do you foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within your organization?”
Said passionately responded, “As a strategist and execution expert a culture of continuous improvement and innovation is part of our blood. Without having plans to ensure continuous improvement in a place at work place it is not likely the green light can be seen.”
Staying Ahead Of The Curve
We further asked, “In the context of global competition, how has your company adapted its strategies to maintain a competitive edge?”
He continued, “To demonstrate to clients that we are different in the way we do things was the main reason to adapt our plans to maintain a competitive edge. Regardless of whether you compete on the same products or not, showing how different we are helped us to move forward and excel further.”
Customer Feedback
Customer insights are paramount when it comes to delivering top-notch services. So, we asked, “What role has customer feedback played in shaping the direction of your products or services?”
“Customer satisfaction is key to success. We introduced a customer satisfaction or feedback survey after each service to gauge our service levels.” He replied.
Incorporating Ethical Practices
To understand the perspective of Said Al Harthi on balancing business operations with corporate responsibility, we asked, “How do you approach corporate responsibility and ethical business practices in your operations?”
He responded, “Corporate responsibility and ethical business practices are essential in any company as they demonstrate good corporate culture.”
Ongoing Services And Projects
We were intrigued to learn more about the services offered by Said Al Harthi’s organization. So, we asked, “Could you tell us more about your services and products and if you have any upcoming plans regarding them?”
He shared, “We are a service-oriented organization: we sell consulting and training services. Most consulting and training services are strategy-based. Throughout the year we have ongoing Strategy Execution, Balanced Scorecard, and KPI courses. We are currently in the process of organizing Strategy Execution Conferences in the Sultanate of Oman and in Zanzibar, United Republic of Tanzania.”
Piece Of Advice For Beginners, we asked Said Al Harthi
Addressing the aspiring professionals, we ended the interview by asking, “Would you like to give beginners in the same industry some advice?”
Said concluded, “I advise beginners to have a plan for whatever they are thinking of doing and also have a mechanism or a system to track performance. Tracking performance is critical as it tells leaders their current position.”
