In Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan welcomes the UAE astronauts Al Neyadi and Al Mansoori.

The Honorable The astronauts Sultan Al Neyadi, Hazzaa Al Mansoori, and the UAE Mission 2 team were received on Thursday  in Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space sciences and Technology (SAASST) by Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah.

The team’s recent successful flight to the International Space Station, which improved UAE relations, and the noteworthy developments in space research and astronomy programs were discussed during the meeting.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan listened to a thorough explanation from Sultan Al Neyadi and Hazzaa Al Mansoori regarding the scientific research he participated in during the longest space trip in Arab history—Sultan Al Neyadi spent six months aboard the International Space Station.

Sheikh Sultan highlighted UAE’s interest in space science and worldwide scientific missions while applauding the team’s efforts during astronaut Al Neyadi’s most recent expedition. Additionally, he emphasized the nation’s initiatives to help young people succeed in all scientific and research domains.
