Hezbollah critics compromise airport screens in Beirut: Media

According to Lebanon’s official news agency, Beirut airport was the target of a cyberattack on Sunday. Local media posted footage of the attack, which showed anti-Hezbollah propaganda replacing screen displays at the terminal.

Since the fight with Hamas began on October 7, Hezbollah and its Palestinian affiliate in Gaza have engaged in almost daily cross-border gunfire. Hezbollah claims to be engaging in support of Hamas.

According to media sources, the airport message asked Hezbollah, a significant organization sponsored by Iran, not to “drag the country into war.”

According to the National News Agency of Lebanon, “the BHS baggage inspection system was disrupted by the cyberattack on the airport’s departure and arrival screens.”

Authorities were attempting to repair the screens “and to maintain normal movement at the airport,” the statement continued.
Images of the statement denouncing Hezbollah that were shown on television next to the Christian “Soldiers of God” group’s symbol were picked up by local media and distributed.
