To mark a Humanitarian Day in the country, the UAE citizens and residents will get free health services in a new endeavor called ‘ Zayed, the benevolent,

Beginning today in Abu Dhabi, the caravan will travel to all seven emirates.

This initiative was launched with the slogan, “Don’t let them worry, with the participation of specialized health volunteers and the broad involvement of UAE doctors. In a humanitarian gesture, it aims to give needy people free health services and awareness.

It is established in collaboration with Emirates Programme for young humanitarian leaders and with the Emirates Volunteers Platform and Programme.

Zayed Humanitarian Day is observed every year on the 19th of Ramadan, representing the noble and well-established human values that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan left behind.

Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, President of Emirates Giving, and President of Emirates Doctors, said that the endeavor aims to fascinate young people and enable them to get the best educational and health services using these field hospitals and mobile clinics under a voluntary structure.

He added that this endeavor has reached millions of people from across the globe with a message of love and giving.

He also stressed giving in the UAE, saying it is more than a feature. Still, it is a consistent and continuous approach that has become a priority across levels under wise leadership’s guidance.

Al Shamri also said that the Emirates Community and the Professional Volunteering Programme aim to integrate the culture of unpaid work and humanitarian giving along with activating partnerships between different private and government sectors.

The ‘ Zayed, the benevolent‘ caravans focus on two main issues,

  • First, to strengthen the role of social responsibility
  • Second, to integrate the concept of sound in all segments of society.

Dr. Noura Al Kindi, one of the young Emirati humanitarian leaders, said that the caravans would present hundred of distinguished volunteer activities and other comprehensive health awareness programs which will contribute to supporting and promoting voluntary and community values.

She added that the convoy would visit different residential neighborhoods across the country, along with the centers for the elderly and people of determination, labor camps, sports and commercial gatherings, and government institutions.

Al Kindi said the caravans met with substantial interaction and witnessed a distinguished reception and attendance in Abu Dhabi today.
