Foreign Nationals Can Work in the UAE with Four Different Types of Residence Visas.

For foreign workers wishing to work in the United Arab Emirates, four types of residency visas are available, with different durations ranging from two to ten years.

It stated that domestic workers are granted the last type of visa, but the Golden visa is granted for a maximum of ten years.

A long-term residency visa known as the “Golden Visa” allows talented foreigners to live, work, or study in the United Arab Emirates while taking advantage of special privileges. Those who qualify for the Golden Visa include investors, business owners, scientists, exceptional students and graduates, pioneers in humanitarianism, and front-line heroes.

The UAE’s green visa is a kind of residency permit that dispenses with the need for a UAE national or employer to sponsor the holder’s visa, allowing the bearer to sponsor themselves for five years.

Freelancers, self-employed, and skilled employees can apply for a Green visa. Still, freelancers and self-employed expatriates must get a freelance/self-employment permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and submit proof of a bachelor’s degree or a specialized diploma.
