JEDDAH: According to the Saudi Press Agency, Flynas, a low-cost airline based in Saudi Arabia, opened its newest operation base at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah on Friday.
Along with the four already-existing destinations, which are Madinah to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Cairo, the airline also launched six new routes and destinations: two domestic flights to Abha and Tabuk, and four international flights to Dubai, Amman, Istanbul, and Ankara.
With this addition, Flynas’ total number of destinations served from its new operation center in Madinah currently stands at 10.
According to its expansion and growth plans, Flynas, the primary low-cost airline in Saudi Arabia, has now established four bases throughout the Kingdom, making it the only airline with this status. These developments align with the National Civil Aviation Strategy and the Pilgrim Experience Program’s goals of facilitating access to the Two Holy Mosques.
By 2030, the plan will allow domestic airlines to reach 330 million passengers and draw 100 million visitors yearly, in addition to helping to connect 250 foreign locations to the Kingdom.
“Launching our newest operation base and inaugurating the new routes come in response to the high demand for Madinah, notably from pilgrims and visitors to the holy mosque,” stated Flynas CEO and managing director Bander Al-Mohanna.
