First group of Danish Cows for Mleiha Dairy Farm Property in Sharjah Airport

The first batch of cows arrived at Sharjah International Airport on Monday and were securely transported to Mleiha Dairy Farm. The Emirate of Sharjah has launched the Mleiha Dairy Farm, its latest and most unusual food security project. It would be the country’s first dairy farm to produce 100% organic milk, delivered to consumers in its purest and most natural form, with no interference or reduction in its components. The dairy will start producing milk in June 2024.

Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (Iktifa), which is linked with the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, described the Mleiha Dairy Farm as one of the country’s most remarkable enterprises. “In the first phase, 1,000 Ashar cows with A2A2 genes were selected and imported from Denmark. All of them will come by air at Sharjah International Airport and be transferred immediately to the farm,” he said.

Dr. Al Tunaiji stated that no effort will be spent to ensure the health and well-being of these cows, which provide the finest form of natural milk containing the A2A2 protein, known for its numerous features and nutritional values critical for human health. The Mleiha Dairy Farm’s organic milk will reach consumers in its purest and most natural form, with no intervention or diminution in nutritional content.
