Dubai Starts a Pilot Programme for Automated right-of-way Damage Detection with AI Assistance.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started a pilot program using a vehicle intended for AI-assisted automated right-of-way damage detection and traffic divert inspection on Dubai’s roads. In keeping with RTA’s goal of becoming The World Leader in Seamless and sustainable Mobility, this project highlights RTA’s dedication to utilizing the most recent advancements in digital and artificial intelligence technologies to improve Dubai’s road network quality and traffic safety.

The intelligent car is outfitted with high-precision instruments to gather information regarding the state of the right-of-way and confirm that traffic detours adhere to the technical standards and requirements approved by the RTA. It has cameras, sensors, and other technical tools to identify damage to roadside amenities and furniture, produce reports, and upload them automatically without human input.

In comparison to conventional methods, he pointed out that reports on the degree of damage to the right-of-way furniture and facilities can be generated with accuracy rates higher than 85%. To guarantee smooth and safe traffic flow for all users of the road, it also makes it easier to verify traffic diversions and guarantees that approved specifications implement them.
