In an act of profound compassion and humanity, the Dubai Police recently brought joy to a young Arab girl by ensuring her father’s presence at her wedding. The girl, deeply attached to her father, who is currently incarcerated, reached out to the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments with a heartfelt plea. She expressed the significance of her father’s blessing and presence at her wedding, emphasizing the deep emotional value it held for her and her family.

Responding with empathy and understanding, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, led the efforts to fulfill this special request. The Department meticulously planned to ensure the father could witness his daughter’s most cherished moment – her wedding day.

Brigadier Marwan Jalfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, confirmed the reception and approval of the request. He underlined that the decision considered not only the emotional aspects but also the father’s role as the primary provider for the family. The Department’s ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative went a step further, extending support to the bride in preparing and furnishing her new home. This comprehensive assistance aimed to lay the foundation for a harmonious and joyful marital life for the couple, while also positively impacting the father’s wellbeing.

The involvement of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Shihi, an Islamic marriage official, who officiated the ceremony at the request of the Department, added a significant touch to the occasion. The bride, her father, and the groom expressed profound gratitude to the Dubai Police for this gesture, which brought immense happiness to their lives.

Brig Salah Jumaa Bu Asaibah, Deputy Director of the Department, emphasized that the ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative is part of a broader effort to support inmates’ children during challenging times. He stressed that such initiatives foster values of tolerance and love within the community, and extended his best wishes for the couple’s future.

This heartwarming story not only showcases the Dubai Police’s commitment to community welfare but also highlights their sensitivity in handling the delicate balance between law enforcement and humanitarian considerations.
