Dubai: KHDA Has Rated 23 Schools as "Outstanding"

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) inspected 209 schools in Dubai with over 360,000 students this year. First-time inspections were conducted at ten of these schools.

The KHDA released the results, which showed that two schools were rated as “Weak,” no schools were rated as “Very Weak,” and a total of 23 schools in the emirate were rated as “Outstanding,” 48 as “Very Good,” 85 as “Good,” and 51 as “Acceptable.” Three schools experienced a drop in their ratings, while 26 schools saw an improvement in their overall rankings.

Additionally, the results show that 81% of Dubai students currently attend private schools with a “Good or higher” rating, up from 77% during the inspection cycle the previous year. This indicates that 26 schools saw an increase in student ratings that benefited close to 49,500 students.

Notably, this year saw improvements in one or more quality indicators in 90% of Dubai’s schools. Of these improvements, 67% have to do with student outcomes, 26% have to do with learner provisions in schools, and 7% have to do with leadership.

Additionally, students’ progress in Arabic as a first language has improved, with 64% of schools rating it as “Good or higher”—up from 52% the year before—and students’ progress in Islamic education has improved as well, with 77% of schools rating it as “Good or higher”—up from 68% during the 2022–2023 academic year.
