A 49-year-old Indian expat in Dubai has finally hit the jackpot after 27 years of buying Dubai Duty-Free raffle tickets. Mohamedbatcha, a father of two, has lived in the emirate for the past 20 years and is employed as a senior officer for a bank.
The foreigner, who purchased his winning ticket online on June 5, expressed gratitude to Dubai Duty-Free for his timely win. Since 1999, Mohamedbatcha is the 231st Indian national to win the promotion to Millionaire status. One luxury car and two motorcycles were up for grabs in the Finest Surprise draw, which took place after the Millennium Millionaire draw.
The 44-year-old Indian expat, Mathias Fernandes of Dubai, won a BMW 740i M Sport in Tanzanite Blue Metallic. For 24 years, Fernandes has been a frequent participant in Dubai Duty-Free’s promotions. In July 2009, he won a Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, his second car win.
Dubai Duty-Free always has the best products and promotions, so I’m always grateful for that,” stated Fernandes, an architect by profession and a father of two. Pakistani national Naveed Akhtar, who resides in the United Arab Emirates, won a BMW F 900 XR (Black Storm Metallic) motorcycle. In contrast, Indian expat Devesh Mukesh Dave, who resides in Dubai, won an Aprilia RSV4 Factory 1100 (Time Attack) motorcycle.
