Demand for Umrah Increases in the UAE During Ramadan, with Packages Costing up to Dh40,000

The Umrah trip during the Islamic holy month is in great demand, with less than two months until Ramadan. Travel operators are observing an increase in queries. Tour providers report that the number of UAE residents traveling for pilgrimages has increased by 200 percent compared to prior months.

Umrah organizers, however, are hopeful that even more locals will make the pilgrimage since the holy month falls during the winter. More pious people are expected to choose this convenient time to begin their spiritual path because of the cooler temperature.

“We receive over a hundred calls daily from residents seeking to fulfill their religious duties during the holy month,” stated Qaiser Mahmood of ASAA Tourism in Abu Hail.

Packages for Umrah typically start at Dh3,000, but during the first 20 days of Ramadan, prices increase by over 25%. “The package starts at Dh3,700 for the first 20 days of Ramadan. Depending on the hotel and its location, pilgrims may have to pay more if they choose a single room.

Hotels in Makkah and Madina’s holy cities provide five nights lodging during the first twenty days of Ramadan. But in the past 10 days, hotels have offered accommodation for the entire stay because shorter stays are typically inaccessible.

Package prices rise by around 100% as the month goes on, especially in the final ten days of the holy month. To save money on lodging, aggregators advise residents to make reservations in advance.
