At the World Governments Summit, RTA and Etihad Rail Sign an Agreement.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the national railway network of the United Arab Emirates, was signed on Wednesday in the presence of Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail, and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance.

The World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024 saw the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing, the first step in a cooperative venture where the RTA would create fare payment and ticket booking options using its NOL system.

“This Memorandum of Understanding will foster integration among federal and local entities,” stated Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Introducing ticket reservation and payment systems for Etihad Rail customers throughout the United Arab Emirates is a significant step. It is a significant step toward advancing the integration of Etihad Rail, a substantial expansion of mass transit in the United Arab Emirates, with RTA’s transportation options.

“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has issued directives that aim to improve coordination and cooperation between government agencies, share innovative knowledge amongst them, create a single digital platform, and create shared digital capacities. He continued providing integrated, approachable, and effective digital services is the ultimate objective.
