Arriving in Doha, Indian PM Modi Meets With the Qatari Emir.

Arriving in Doha on Wednesday night, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, to further strengthen the historically cordial and friendly ties between the two nations. Since 2014, Modi has made two trips to Qatar as prime minister.

After a fast-paced two days in the UAE, Modi arrived in Doha. Among his many commitments were speeches at the famous World Governments Summit, an event well-attended by the Indian diaspora, and the opening of the country’s first Hindu stone temple.

The Indian Prime Minister was said farewell at the Presidential Flight in Abu Dhabi by Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, together with several other dignitaries.

Modi expressed his excitement at meeting Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, “under whose leadership Qatar continues to witness tremendous growth and transformation,” in a statement before he departs from New Delhi on Tuesday.
