Officials reported that a massive explosion at an Indian fireworks business on Tuesday resulted in at least seven fatalities and seventy-five injuries.
Following the explosion at the firecracker company, footage on Indian networks showed a tower of flame rising high into the sky. Hospital officials reported seven deaths, and numerous ambulances and army helicopters were dispatched to remove the injured.
An officer at the Harda district hospital in the state of Madhya Pradesh stated, “We can confirm seven deaths so far,” requesting anonymity because they were not permitted to speak to the media.
“We have 65 injured admitted here and have referred 10 others to a bigger hospital.”
About fifteen fire engines were battling the intense fire, according to senior district official Kailash Chand Parte, who organized rescue operations from the plant.
“At least eight people had very serious injuries… we are here at the site and focused on rescue work and sending people to the hospitals, so we can’t immediately confirm the number of dead,” Parte told the AFP news agency.
