An airline passenger was detained at the Bengaluru airport in India after making a joke about having a bomb in his suitcase during a security check.
The accused was reportedly removed from the aircraft after refusing to let the attendants check his suitcase, claiming it contained a bomb. After a comprehensive inspection, Kumaran was brought to the Bengaluru Airport police station by sleuths from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
According to authorities, Kumaran was visiting his sister in Kerala because her infant daughter had passed away during delivery, and he was annoyed by the extra security procedures that took place inside the aircraft after he was seated.
According to the accused, he questioned the staff, “Do you think I am carrying a knife or a bomb?”
He is the subject of an IPC Section 505 lawsuit (for making statements that encourage public harm). The police are looking into the matter and confirming his statements.
