The American University of Sharjah’s (AUS) highly anticipated Fall 2023 commencement ceremony, held on December 9, celebrated a life-changing journey marking the tenacity and determination of the 488-member graduating class. The ceremony was held against the backdrop of academic achievement and the promise of new beginnings.
At University City Hall in Sharjah, Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS, awarded degrees to graduate and undergraduate students. Proud parents and friends attended the event, supporting their graduates as they walked across the stage to accept their well-deserved diplomas.
“Today is not only a day of pride, but also of gratitude,” she remarked. Graduation is not only a worthy reward for years of dedication to a significant life goal, but it also marks the beginning of a larger project: the rest of one’s life. That’s why I beg of our graduating kids to walk out into the world with appreciation in their hearts.
They might be grateful for the opportunities that now lie ahead of them as well as for what they have accomplished at AUS. While I am incredibly pleased of our pupils, I am also appreciative of the enthusiasm, diligence, and hard work they put out every day. Dr. Tod A. Laursen will be attending his first AUS graduation ceremony in the fall of 2023.
