Press Release: Alcatel re-enters Gulf market with V3 series smartphones

Launches three models with patented display technology; plans R&D centre in Dubai

Dubai, 4th Feb: Alcatel, the iconic French mobile technology brand, has re-entered the GCC market with the launch of its V3 Series smartphones: V3 Ultra 5G, V3 Pro 5G and V3 Classic 5G, all featuring industry-first patented Nxtpaper 4-in-1 display technology.

The technology eliminates blue light and extends battery life to over seven days.

The smartphones are manufactured in India by Nxtcell Mobility in partnership with Alcatel, a French company with a significant market share in the enterprise level 5G infrastructure.

The patented display technology converts a regular display into an ink display, eliminating blue light and significantly extending battery life to more than seven days. It runs on the latest Android OS, with up to three years of updates.

“This phone does not emit blue light when in Kindle mode, which is a feature not available in other phones,” said Atul Vivek, CEO of Nxtcell.

“Nxtpaper technology is a groundbreaking solution to address visual comfort challenges, focusing on reducing blue light to deliver a clear, paper-like, full-color display.

Alcatel, the brand holder for consumer products, has pivoted to enterprise-level business, while they have taken the brand for consumer products,” Vivek said on the sidelines of a press conference to announce the re-entry and launch of the new models.

He said the company is planning to set up an R&D centre in Dubai, either alone or in collaboration with the government.

Nxtcell will be selling globally, including markets like Latin America and North Africa.

The company is positioning itself in the mid-range premium segment, aiming to cater to the wider GCC region.

The new models are priced in a sweet spot, making it affordable for consumers to try new technology said Ansh Rathi, COO of Nxtcell.

The company is targeting the premium market with AIoT-connected ecosystems and stylus-enabled smartphones.

“If a consumer wants new and premium technology, he has to pay extra, say some AED3,000 to AED4,000. We are giving them the same technology, even better, but priced AED450 to AED800.  You cannot imagine that under AED800 you can use stylus in one phone. V3 Classic 5G comes with a stylus,” he said.

Distribution will be managed through a single strategic partnership with iMart Group & Worldwide IT, which will ensure availability in offline retail stores and e-commerce platforms.
