Abdullah Bin Zayed is Present at the Late Iranian President's Official Funeral

The UAE delegation to the official mourning ceremony held in Tehran today to honour the late Iranian President, Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their companions who died in a recent helicopter crash was led by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the country’s minister of foreign affairs.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed was accompanied by a delegation that included the UAE Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saif Mohammed Al Zaabi, and State Minister Khalifa Shaheen Almarar. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi chaired the Federal National Council’s committee on defence, interior, and foreign affairs. Leaders and delegates of several international organisations attended the mourning ceremony, which took place in the Iranian capital’s International Conference Hall.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent his condolences and sympathies through Sheikh Abdullah, pleading with Allah Almighty to grant them forgiveness and mercy.

In his meeting with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s support for Iran under these trying times.

Sheikh Abdullah also expressed gratitude for the late Iranian Foreign Minister’s extraordinary efforts to promote closer ties between the two neighbours.

The official reception ceremony for His Highness was held in Tehran earlier today, and the UAE Foreign Minister arrived to offer his condolences.
