An investment banker from Dubai named Vishal Patel began helping at the BAPS Hindu Mandir as the first traditional Hindu temple in the Middle East began to take shape in the UAE Capital. To devote all of his time to serving at the Abu Dhabi temple, the 43-year-old family man left his lucrative position at the Dubai International Financial Centre last year.
Vishal was reared in the United Kingdom and has had a long history of close ties to the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. One of his life’s guiding lights has been the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in London. He relocated to Dubai while the Sanstha was selected to oversee and build the Abu Dhabi temple project.
My family and I have been residents of the UAE since 2016. Before this, I always put my job first, holding positions at reputable hedge funds and investment banks. Nonetheless, by sponsoring this Mandir in the UAE, I could participate in activities that advance the common good and significantly influence society. Vishal, who worked as an executive director at a prestigious financial research firm until last year, said, “This opportunity was too significant to pass up.”
