India: An Indigo aircraft misses the taxiway upon landing, preventing departures

The Delhi Airport’s Sunday morning departures from one of its runways were suspended for fifteen minutes when an Indigo flight from Amritsar missed the taxiway while landing.

Airport sources claim that Indigo aircraft 6E 2221 Amritsar to Delhi missed its taxiway path after landing in Delhi, causing a 15-minute disruption flight departure from Runway 28/10.

Only when Indigo towed its aircraft off the runway could the runway be cleared. As a result, the source claims that runway departures are still halted. After closing for renovations and recarpeting, the CAT III-capable runway 28/10 has reopened for use.

Due to visibility issues, numerous aircraft at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were allegedly delayed on Sunday. An alert was released by Delhi Airport warning non-CAT III compliance planes that they may be impacted.

Over the following two days, the city’s maximum temperature is expected to reach approximately 25°C, according to the weather agency. Additionally, light rain is expected in Central India from February 10–12 and in East India from February 12–14, according to the Met Department.
