Saudi Arabia has extended a warm welcome to the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) preliminary rulings aimed at halting all acts and declarations targeted at genocide against the besieged Palestinian population in Gaza.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia expressed its commendation for the ICJ’s decision not to dismiss the lawsuit brought forward by South Africa.
“The Ministry expresses the Kingdom’s support for the recent pronouncements from the International Court of Justice and firmly condemns the actions of the Israeli occupation, which stand in violation of the United Nations Convention on Genocide,” the statement declared.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also lauded the dedicated efforts of South Africa in initiating legal action against the ongoing transgressions of the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip.
The Kingdom emphasized the critical importance of the international community taking proactive measures to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the protection of the Palestinian population, and holding the Israeli occupation forces accountable for their systematic breaches of international law and international humanitarian principles.
