The internet database Numbeo has assigned Abu Dhabi the top spot on its list of the world’s safest cities for 2024. Ajman, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah were three more emirates that were listed among the top six cities in the world.
The safety rating for Abu Dhabi was 86.8, while its crime rate was 13.1. Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, received the lowest scores, with a safety rating of 17.8 and a crime index of 82.2.
An evaluation of the total amount of crime in a certain city or nation is provided by the crime index. 329 cities were ranked by Numbeo on its crime index.
According to Numbeo’s website, “crime levels below 20 are very low, between 20 and 40 are low, between 40 and 60 are moderate, between 60 and 80 are high, and above 80 are very high.”
The crime index and the safety index are completely different. Regarding the 331 cities that make up the safety index, Numbeo stated that “a city is considered very safe if it has a high safety index.”
