Dubai: To streamline the application procedure for citizens wishing to apply for the visa system, Saudi Arabia has introduced five new categories that permit qualified candidates to register for a residency permit.
The categories include investors, entrepreneurs, property owners, and skilled and talented persons (specialists, executives, and athletes).
Those who meet the requirements can apply for a permit that will allow them to live and work in the Kingdom and provide them with privileges like not having to pay fees for dependents and expats.
A one-time charge of SR4,000 ($1,066) is required for the residency permit, which also allows foreign nationals to own enterprises and real estate in the nation without the need for a sponsor.
Except for Mecca, Madina, and the border regions, they can own real estate in all of Saudi Arabia, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Resident permit holders can operate enterprises, host and invite families, transfer money without fees, and grant their family members premium resident status.
Depending on the plan they choose when applying, individuals have the right to live in the Kingdom for an extended period—one year, renewable—or indefinite time.
