RAK'New Year's Eve drone ands fireworks spectacular set two Guinness World Records.

Another record-breaking eight-minute New Year’s Eve drone and firework and drone performance marked two new Guinness World Records titles as Ras Al Khaimah ushered in the New Year with a breathtaking show that lit up the skies along a 4.5-kilometre stretch of the shoreline.

The Emirate, which already holds multiple Guinness World Records titles for its renowned New Year’s Eve fireworks displays, has made history once again with a breathtaking show that shattered the records for the “Longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks” at 5.8 km and the “Longest straight-line drones display” at 2 km.

Using a combination of 1,050 LED drones, an aquatic floating fireworks “carpet,” and an acrobatic pyroplane display inspired by Ras Al Khaimah’s natural wonders—the desert, the sea, and the mountains—the captivating show showcased cutting-edge techniques never seen before. All of this was choreographed to music created especially for the occasion.

Declared, “Breaking two more Guinness World Records titles has set the stage for an unforgettable night of celebration bringing together thousands of visitors and residents,” Raki Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said.
“As we begin the new year, 2023 has been a remarkable year for Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism industry, with multiple successes and the most significant number of visitors ever recorded annually, helping the Nature Emirate push toward its goal of drawing over 3 million tourists annually by 2030.
