According to a top representative of the Indian Plastics Export Promotion Council (Plexconcil), India wants to quadruple its plastic exports to the UAE to $5 billion (Dh18.35 billion) by 2027.
India’s strong economy, close proximity to the United Arab Emirates, and superior plastic product quality, according to Plexconcil Chairman Hemant Minocha, will enable the South Asian nation to meet its $5 billion export target to the Emirates.
In 2022–2023, India and the United Arab Emirates had $85 billion in bilateral commerce. India has a lot of space to develop because it imports more plastic from the UAE than it exports to them. In an interview with Khaleej Times on the fringes of the Arab Plast 2023 exhibition, which is held at the Dubai World Trade Center from December 13 to 15, Minocha stated that the export potential for Indian plastics to the UAE alone is approximately $5 billion, or nearly four times what we are currently doing.
The Plexconcil, which was founded by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is a trade association for 3,000 exporters that produce and sell plastic goods. With 73 exporters, it is sending the largest delegation to Arab Plast 2023.
