For treatment, a second plane carrying wounded Palestinians lands in Abu Dhabi

A second group of Palestinian children injured in the ongoing conflict in Gaza have arrived in the United Arab Emirates to receive medical care at Emirati facilities. For treatment, A flight from Abu Dhabi landed at Al Arish International Airport in Egypt as part of the mission that saw Khaleej Times evacuate the youngsters and return to Abu Dhabi in less than 15 hours. The kids had burns and fractures from the fighting, and some of them even have cancer.

At 5.45 p.m. local time (7.45 p.m. UAE time), over 50 passengers—including medical volunteers and cabin crew—landed at Al Arish. Medical volunteers disembarked from the ambulances after the patients were brought to the tarmac and assessed each patient’s condition.

Following their examination and stabilization, the patients had to be loaded onto the aircraft, a process that took more than five hours and called for patience and accuracy.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, issued an urgent order earlier this month to treat 1,000 Palestinian youngsters who were living in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the UAE volunteered to treat 1,000 cancer patients in its hospitals following the collapse of the city’s healthcare system due to ongoing Israeli bombing.
