There are no military installations or personnel After the al-Shifa , according to Hamas, the hospital staff, and a number of foreign organizations that were granted access to the facility. They claim that it only houses worn-out medical professionals and overburdened nurses who care for an increasing number of patients in increasingly challenging circumstances. To make matters worse, hundreds of terrified Palestinians have fled to the relative protection of the compound from the demolition of their homes.
One of Israel’s primary arguments, which was evidently meant to support the assaults on the Gaza hospital compounds, was that Hamas had violated the hospitals’ protected status by utilizing them for military objectives, giving Israel the right to attack and occupy hospitals while simultaneously placing the blame on the Palestinian armed group.
The Israeli army took considerable efforts to “prove” its claims, however the evidence to date does not support their claims. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief spokesman for the invading forces, brought reporters from a US TV station to al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital earlier this week. The news crew was shown a motorcycle and a couple of Kalashnikov rifles, of all things. Hagari went to great lengths to persuade the public and media that such were evidence supporting the claims made by his side.
