Dr. Marc Sinclair, a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon in Dubai, has been visiting the Gaza Strip twice a year for the past 13 years in order to treat children who have war injuries and deformities. Dr. Marc, one of the co-founders of The Little Wings Foundation (TLWF), assembled a small but committed group of volunteers to assist thousands of youngsters in the Palestinian city.
Dr. Marc is pleading for assistance to assist as many medical professionals and patients as he can on the ground as Gaza experiences one of the worst strikes it has ever seen. Speaking to Khaleej Times outside of a fundraiser dinner the organization hosted in collaboration with Al Jalila Foundation, he stated, “At the moment, nobody goes into Gaza.”
Some significant contributions were made by UAE residents to the event that took place at Zinn Cafe and Bistro in Dubai on Tuesday. But we are in communication with the medics on the ground, so we are aware of their needs. In fact, we’ve made a sizable purchase of surgical instruments, plates, nails, and other items required to treat fractures in addition to antibiotics and painkillers. These things are currently in Egypt, from where they may be transported to Gaza more easily.
