Tanisha, who is from Dubai, wants to compete at the Olympics alongside Indian doubles legend

Tanisha Crasto, who was 15 years old at the time, had to decide whether to continue enjoying a comfortable life in Dubai with her parents or to work hard to rise to the top of the competitive Indian badminton scene in order to follow her dream of being a professional shuttler.

Tanisha’s father Clifford, who also served as her initial instructor, ultimately risked everything to support his daughter in developing her skills in India, including his profession and life savings.

Her life has transformed as a result of her sacrifice.
Tanisha, 20, is currently regarded as one of the best badminton players in India and a master in both mixed and women’s doubles.

Seven months after contributing to India’s historic bronze medal run at the Asian Mixed Team Badminton Championships, Tanisha made her debut at the Asian Games in China, having smoothly advanced from the juniors to the senior division. Now, this shuttler from Dubai has her sights set on a more ambitious objective.

Tanisha hopes to attend the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024.

Tanisha is full of confidence, especially with Ashwini Ponnappa, her new partner and an Indian pioneer in women’s doubles.

“I believe our chances of qualifying for the Olympics are not too bad. I’m trying my hardest to make things work. After a training session in Dubai, the young man told the Khaleej Times, “I am working very hard with her.”
