The UAE Golden Visa program, launched in 2019, grants long-term residency visas to individuals who meet specific criteria. The UAE has updated the entry permit fees for the 10-year Golden Visa, as per the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). The revised cost of the six-month entry permit is now Dh1,250, which includes various fees such as issuance, application, smart services, electronic services, and ICP.
To be eligible for the Golden Visa, applicants must provide several documents, including a passport, coloured personal photo, and proof of eligibility. Among the eligible candidates are investors, entrepreneurs, top talents, scholars, specialists, outstanding high school graduates, graduates of accredited universities, and frontline heroes.

Earlier this year, Khaleej Times had reported an increase in the fees for Emirates ID and visas, with all ICP services increasing by Dh100. Despite the rise in fees, the Golden Visa program remains an attractive option for those who wish to live and work in the UAE for an extended period. The program aims to attract skilled individuals and boost the country’s economy by facilitating long-term residency and promoting investment in the region.
Additionally, the UAE has implemented various initiatives to encourage foreign investment, such as the establishment of free zones and economic incentives for businesses. The government’s efforts to create a favourable environment for businesses and individuals have contributed to the country’s status as a hub for international trade and finance. The Golden Visa program is one of the latest measures aimed at promoting economic growth and innovation in the UAE.
