Top Stars Gather for 2026 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on DP World Tour

The prestigious Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship returns for its third edition, set to deliver world-class golf from January 29 to February 1, 2026. Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the $2.75 million DP World Tour event will see a stellar international field compete at the acclaimed Royal Golf Club, highlighting Bahrain’s growing status on the global golf calendar.

The tournament boasts a compelling mix of past champions, major winners, and rising stars. Defending champion Dylan Frittelli of South Africa returns, citing his fondness for the course and Bahraini hospitality as key motivators. He will face formidable competition, including fellow former winner Laurie Canter and major champions Padraig Harrington and Patrick Reed. Reed arrives with strong momentum following his recent performance at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

Adding to the star power is fan favorite Sergio Garcia, the former Masters champion known for his experience and flair. The field is further strengthened by in-form talent like Jayden Schaper, the 24-year-old South African who currently leads the Race to Dubai standings. Seasoned campaigners such as Germany’s six-time DP World Tour winner Marcel Siem also underscore the event’s appeal within the popular Middle East swing.

A special highlight of the championship is the participation of three local qualifiers: Ahmed Al-Zayed, Khalifa Al-Maraisi, and Ali Al-Kowari. Their presence showcases the development of golf within the kingdom and offers home fans a proud connection to the elite competition.

The Royal Golf Club’s layout is renowned for its strategic challenge, combining undulating fairways, well-placed hazards, and persistent winds that demand precision and intelligent course management. This test has cemented the championship’s reputation as a must-play event for professionals and a must-watch for global golf enthusiasts.
