During his official visit to the UAE, President Gabriel Boric Font of the Republic of Chile saw the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Accompanying him were Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Chile; a number of high-ranking Chilean officials; and the accompanying delegation.
In order to start their visit, President Boric and his delegation paid their respects at the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s mausoleum. While there, they thought about the traits and astute strategy of the Founding Father, which have enhanced the global culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
Accompanied by Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, President Boric and his delegation explored the mosque’s halls and exterior corridors during their visit. They were also briefed on the mosque’s message of coexistence, tolerance, and openness to others, all of which are based on the values and principles established by the founding father of the United Arab Emirates.
They also studied the history of the impressive building, its architectural magnificence, and the exquisite art of Islamic architecture on display in all of its facets. They also learnt about the important role the Centre plays in fostering a tolerant Islamic culture and improving cross-cultural communication between various cultures and peoples worldwide.
