Abu Dhabi Introduces a Clever Robot to Improve Traffic Awareness

A smart robot that resembles a human body was introduced by Abu Dhabi Police to engage the public, respond to inquiries, and improve traffic awareness. The robot can be used in instructional lectures and responds to questions. Additionally, it can educate the public on rules like the obligation to stop when a school bus displays the “Stop” sign.

The robot was introduced by the Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, and national cadres from the directorate oversaw its programming. The Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, noted that the use of this cutting-edge technology has improved efforts, reduced wait times, and produced positive outcomes in police and security operations. The intelligent robot can show traffic competitions, offer traffic advice, and display digital awareness traffic videos.

The robot answers questions and can be used in educational presentations. It can also educate the public on guidelines such as the obligation to stop when the ‘Stop’ sign is displayed on a school bus.
Abu Dhabi Police have deployed four intelligent robots to display traffic safety videos and answer public inquiries to ensure passenger safety and respond to all requests and questions. The new robots are community-friendly and are being used in traffic education programs by the police and its partners, according to Mahmoud Youssef Al Balushi, director of the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols.
