Several instruments from the International Space Station (ISS) have now been replicated in a space lab at a school in Dubai.
Students will study important subjects like hydroponic farming on Mars, 3D game design in the metaverse for social interaction, AI-enhanced robotic pets for Mars, autonomous vehicles for Martian transportation, do-it-yourself space repairs, and the use of robotic arms, wearable haptics, and gesture controls for space operations in the newly opened Space Lab at GEMS International School – Al Khail (GIS) on Thursday.
I do not wish for my pupils to be tech consumers. That’s who I want to be the developers. This area is for testing purposes only; games are not allowed here. With laptops in hand and a sense of empowerment, students now design everything and visit the Space Lab only for exams. They get knowledge about growing plants in space here. According to Vikas Singh, Head of Secondary Design and Director of the Centre of Excellence for Aviation, Aeronautics, and Space at GEMS International School – Al Khail, “They conduct research on humidity and light conditions.” He clarified that no conventional teaching techniques are being applied. Instead, students can rapidly expand their skill sets in student-centered learning environments.
