Kuwait Lifts the Ban on Filipino Labor Permits and Entry Visas.

After a more than year-long ban, Kuwait has started issuing work and entry visas to Filipino citizens. Additionally, the nation has permitted the hiring of experienced Filipino domestic workers with prior overseas employment.

Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the first deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers, presided over the meeting at Seif Palace. Due to a bilateral labor agreement violation, the ban was put in place last year.

During the meeting, the parties also decided to form a joint technical working committee that will convene regularly to discuss employment and other matters. Additionally, the two administrations reaffirmed their commitment to the “Domestic Workers Employment Agreement,” which Kuwait and the Philippines signed in 2018. The Philippines was accused of breaking the bilateral labor agreement, leading to the ban’s implementation on May 10 last year.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced the news on X on Sunday. The decision was made after a bilateral meeting on Sunday between the deputy minister of migrant labor from the Philippines and Kuwait’s ministers of interior and defense.
