Flights from the UAE: Air Arabia Begins Service to Basra, Iraq

On Friday, Air Arabia began operating flights from Sharjah International Airport to Basra, Iraq. The route operates four times a week between Basra and Sharjah. After Baghdad, Najaf, and Erbil, Basra is Air Arabia’s fourth direct route from Sharjah to Iraq.

Upon arrival at Basra International Airport, representatives from Air Arabia and Basra International Airport attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a traditional water cannon salute for the Air Arabia aircraft.

In addition to allowing our customers to take advantage of our value-driven products and services, the service strengthens the already strong travel and trade connections between the two cities.”

Direct flight bookings between the two cities are now available to customers via the Air Arabia website, call center, or travel agencies.

Upon arrival at Basra International Airport, representatives from Air Arabia and Basra International Airport attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a traditional water cannon salute for the Air Arabia aircraft.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, stated, “Air Arabia’s new flights to Basra mark a significant milestone in our commitment to providing affordable travel options within the region.” “The new service further strengthens the already strong travel and trade connections between the two countries by providing our customers with the chance to connect directly between the two cities and take advantage of our value-driven products and services.
