Dubai: More Than 600 Nol Cards with Preloads Were Given Away Free to Families in Need

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) gave away more than 600 pre-loaded Nol cards to low-income families in honor of Sheikh Zayed Humanitarian Day, celebrated in the United Arab Emirates on the 19th day of Ramadan every year.

The NOL cards can be used for necessary purchases at participating retail locations throughout the emirate and for public transportation.

“It is intended to carry out various community initiatives directed towards RTA employees, people of determination, families with limited incomes, drivers, and workers to bring them joy and happiness during the holy month,” according to RTA, which also includes the distribution of 630 nol cards.

RTA launched the “Modes of Good” program at the beginning of this month. This program is an extension of the yearly “Meals on Wheels” campaign, and it involves distributing 8,000 Iftar meals to Abra captains, truck drivers, delivery bike riders, and drivers of public buses. Additionally, RTA and the Beit Al Khair Society collaborated on the Ramadan Tent Project, which sought to feed 2000 people who were fasting Iftar meals.

Additionally, phone booths have been installed at a few Metro stations during Ramadan to allow commuters to make free international calls to loved ones living overseas from Al Ghubaiba, Union, and Jebel Ali Metro stations.
